All the TV talk recently has been about 3DTV’s and with Sony stopping production of the XEL-1-OLED it has looked like OLED technology was on it’s way out. However Sony have announced they are going to release a new 7.4inch model which is aimed at professional videomakers.

The 7.4 inch model doesn’t look as aesthetically pleasing as you might expect it would for  a monitor costing £3,850 but it is about what the device does and not what it looks like.

OLED screens are excellent for videomakers becuase of the screen resolution and with the AR coating reflection is kept to a minimum.

The new 7.4 inch OLED TV is called the Sony PVM-740 with UK release yet to be announced.
